Temple Grandin

Free Online conference 4/9 and 10 - It's hard to get to conferences and EXPENSIVE

Thought that there may be many of you out there who may be interested!  In the convenience of your own home and Free - and I have to tell you that Temple is inspiring.  I went to see her speak a long time ago before she was famous - and I was especially touched by her personal stories and how they are so similar to many of the strategies and difficulties my son has had.  It will be worth your while just to hear her speak!

Claire Danes & Temple Grandin Win Golden Globe, Share an Emotional Moment

Clare Danes picked up a Golden Globe tonight for her portrayal of the famous professor, animal scientist, author, and woman with autism, Temple Grandin.

The HBO Movie Temple Grandin, which was passed over for “best mini-series or TV movie,”(although it won an Oscar for best TV movie) follows the life of the most well-known person with autism. Grandin, a prolific writer and researcher, is known for her intuitive work with animals and as a spokesperson and advocate for people on the autism spectrum.

She’s also known for encouraging parents to help children with autism to “get out there” and have high expectations for achieving and getting the most out of life, as she’s done.

Future Horizons Grandin/Attwood Conference-anyone going?

Anyone going to attend the Future Horizons Conference in Dixon, IL on July 23,2010? This is actually a 2-day conference, but I will only be attending Friday because that is the day both Temple Grandin AND Tony Attwood are both presenting! Myself and the other co-facilitator of our bi-monthly (every other month, not twice a month) women's group will be attending that day, driving in the night before.

FH has several conferences around the US. I will be at this one, and I'd like to know if anyone else from this forum will be there also?
