New Moon - 21:01

New moon occurs when the Earth , Sun & Moon are aligned so that the Moon is directly in between the Earth & Sun. From this frame of reference, the side of the Moon covered in sunlight is turned away from the Earth, and what we see is in shadow. The Moon cycle is  approximately 29 days from new moon to Full Moon and then back to new moon again. The Moon is in conjunction with the Sun, as seen from Earth during a new moon.
