This room looked so lonely with more than 1100 posts in the Forum.  Seeing this one standing alone looked so odd.  Thought I'd make a "Hello Karen" hangout.  To just stop by and say howdy.

Howdy Karen!

Karen is our fabulous moderator for the NT section of the forum.  So perhaps we can stop by now and again and give Karen a proper *good day* -- So I will begin,  Hello, howdy, what up Karen?" Cool

Thanks Sharon, that is so very sweet, I appreciate the hello! I am just so happy that there is a place where so many women/girls on the spectrum can go and have great discussions and meet others. I've been spending some time in the "ask an NT" section - there are some really good and difficult questions out there. Being with Lori has really forced me to see with new eyes how nonsensical so much of the NT world can be. It has helped me to be much more honest with her and with myself and with other people in my life.

It would be great to mee other NT family/friends/significant others in this section but the most important thing to me is that people on the spectrum can find a place here. Finding out Lori's diagnosis has also helped me talk to the other NTs in our lives and try to help them understand some the reasons, for example, that Lori doesn't always attend social gatherings with me. I think this has brought an awareness to some people and we have heard more and more from friends who have family members or other friends with kids on the spectrum.

Thanks again Sharon - I am a huge fan of yours!

Hi there Karen. Thanks for answering our questions. you help expain what we just don't get from the NT world. You're like the key to the NT world. The door would, otherwise, be locked, without willing people like you. thanks.

Thank you so much Genisa. In turn, I am so happy to be having these conversations with women on the spectrum because it gives me more and more insight into your worlds too and I am truly grateful for that - thank you too for putting out your thoughts and questions Smile

Hi Karen-  just wanted to say hi from an NT mom.  My kids are all on the spectrum, and it's wonderful for my girls and I to have found this place (even if they are at the reading/not posting stage right now).   I've been reading over your answers to questions and I think that you're doing a great job!

Thanks Jen and welcome to the site! If you ever want to ring in, would be great to hear from an NT mom perspective Laughing
