Astrology
Yes, I am an astrologer. But I am also going to start my mediumship studies. Anyway have you noticed the energies being nasty lately?? Saturn is in retrograde in Libra (which is affecting peace and quiet, not to mention you are finding out who you are really dealing with when it comes to relationships), and Mars is in retrograde in Leo (oh joy, not very good for our egos! I know I have been suffering, considering transiting Mars has been conjuncting my natal Sun.. explains the tempers!), and now Saturn and Pluto are squaring one another. That is creating other challenges, where we just feel like the energies are against us and we are inclined to give up. But this square is a huge challenge and we have to find it within us to find the strength to keep trying even if it feels like everything else around us is falling apart.
Ooo, Ooo, Sharon! found out my raising sign is Cancer. Time of birth ended up being 3:40 am (August 2nd 1987)
A friend of mine started guessing my sign- and got it AND the raising sign right!
Ok ~ I am setting a goal to post here in the astrology section a bit more. I am looking forward to discussing this topic with all of you.
My basic astro signs are:
Sun -> Cancer
Moon -> Taurus
Rising -> Scorpio
Savannah,
Two quick tips I would suggest for your Cancer Ascendant would be (1) trust your intuition. If a Cancer feels it - they know it.
(2) Practice asking for the "good news first" and once in a while save the "bad news for last."
By this I mean that Cancers will typically ask for the bad news first (always ensuring that something is wrong.) Take a tip from your Sun sign ruler Leo & look to the sunny side in the beginning of everything you do & you will be amazed how many "bad sides" don't exist!
(ps: I have a soft side for Leos! A little angel born a Leo calls me Nawnee ♥ ...my granddaughter)

Miriam,
I'd like to know more - I'll visit your blog this evening. The residual health conditions passed on from another life sounds fascinating. I suppose this would be greatly beneficial to have knowledge of what we are pre-disposed to, therefore we can pay extra close attention to these vulnerable areas.
Is this along the same line of reasoning as cellular memory as this actually makes a lot of sense to me.
This is great--I just joined this site and here is one of my own all-time obsessions, Astrology. I discovered it many years ago, not long before my ASD diagnosis, and studying my own and others' charts has helped a great deal; you can get a lot of insight from the natal chart. Back then I was often "accused" of obsessing about Astrology, but a lot of people I knew came to believe in it after I did their charts and showed them how it works. I think it is fascinating; there is so much you can do with Astrology--not just natal charts but things like Horary (to get an answer to a specific question) and event charts, where you time an event according to the transiting aspects to find the most auspicious time for the event, like a wedding; you can compare two or more charts to see how compatible people are to each other, and so on.
Sharon, you mentioned predispositions to health conditions, which Miriam talked about as being passed on from another life; they are shown in the person's chart for this life also. For example, afflictions (negative aspects) to the natal Moon and Mercury--both have to do with the mind/brain and communication--can show up as ASD or other mental and /or communication disorders; heart problems can be shown by the Sun or Ascendant afflicted in Leo, etc.
As for me, I am what they call a double Gemini--that is, Sun and Ascendant in the same sign--with a very strong Cancer influence as well from my Moon, Mercury, and Venus all in Cancer in my first house. The fact that I am more verbal than some auties probably shows in all that Gemini; my personality is sort of a cross between the so-called typical Gemini and Cancer types. I think the Cancer influence helps keep me focused, keep my feet on the ground so to speak, as Geminis tend to be a little scattered--even NT Geminis lol. In the past several years, I've kind of gotten away from my Astrological work but maybe it's time to get back into it a bit more. I will be sure to check out Miriam's blog also.

Love the picture!
Miriam,
I just checked out your blog. Very nice, very informative. I hadn't noticed that Mercury was about to go retrograde again til you mentioned it; I looked in the ephemeris and it goes R at 4:07 am today, GMT, which means it's already R where I am. I just joined this forum a few hours ago, which was something new for me, so hopefully I did that just before Mercury turned around! However, finding these posts brought back to me my love of Astrology, which as I told Sharon, was a great obsession of mine for a long time and has been sadly neglected in the recent past. I guess Mercury is trying to tell me that it's time to take it up again! Mercury in retrograde will do that--bring up things or people from one's past; especially me being such a Mercury-oriented person (Gemini Sun and Ascendant).
I'll be looking forward to your blog posts.
My newest passion in this field is Quantum Physics & Astrology which addresses the discovery that subatomic particles can instantly communicate with each other at faster than light speeds. This phenomenon conflicts with Einstein's theory of Special Relativity, which expressly forbids speeds exceeding that of light. Einstein said this would allow for time travel, a notion he considered too paradoxical to consider. © Copyright 2005 Kim Falconer

My interest also lies in past lives which is what my books are about! but with my second one I am adding astrology to it.. but it's not a kind of book that would make everyone comfortable as well, what I am doing with this is doing case studies of doing past life astrological analyses on reincarnated Holocaust victims, and find the details of exactly what happened in their last life in the Holocaust which creates inner torture today, as well as other health issues. Karmic residue is passed on even in regards to illness.
I have had the feeling for some years that i died in a Nazi concentration camp, in my previous life to this one. I went thru a period over twelve years ago when i was getting 'flashbacks' of past lives, this knowledge was one of them. I was being protected from the full blast of the horror, but what i got was bad enough. I was either a Jewish or Gypsy girl. But i have felt since then it explains why i have often not wanted to be here, on the planet - my feeling at the end of that life, when i was dying in the gas chamber, was that i didn't want to be here anyway, when there was so much evil. So i didn't struggle, is the feeling i got. (Sorry anyone if this sounds kind of creepy and ghastly. It was pretty ghastly reliving it too.) Incidentally, i have had big health problems in this life, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Which i contracted in my late 20s, around my Saturn return.
I am what they call a double Gemini--that is, Sun and Ascendant in the same sign--with a very strong Cancer influence as well from my Moon, Mercury, and Venus all in Cancer in my first house. I am Aquarius sun, Gemini rising, Cancer ascendant in the 1st house. I am pretty verbal too (well, except when i have a 'shutdown'). I also have Uranus in Leo in opposition to my Sun and Mercury, both square Neptune in Scorpio. There's a name for this kind of thing, but i can't remember it. Anyway, i know it causes lots of troubles - the only other person i've found with it was a (now ex-) friend of mine, who was a sexual abuse survivor, an alcoholic, had lots of problems with her kids, etc etc.
afflictions (negative aspects) to the natal Moon and Mercury--both have to do with the mind/brain and communication--can show up as ASD or other mental and /or communication disorders;
Interesting. I kind of wish i could take my chart to an astrologer and have it looked at properly - i used to know one, and she drew up my chart for me, but that was as far as it went. I do know i have Chiron (the wounded healer 'planet') conjunct my Sun and Mercury. And both in opposition to Uranus etc, as i said.
Yeah same here...
We have the same issues...
If there's anybody out there who share something with regards to this
please post it here and share..
Thanks...
