Okay, people, I'm allergic to cats. Just thinking about them makes me sneeze.

Any other dog lovers out there?

I have two little mutts, each one 17-18 pounds. They are very cute and spend all day with me. The girl is 7, and I got her from another family. My boy is 5, and I got him from a shelter.

The girl is mostly Jack Russell. And I don't know if anyone has one of these, but they are very alpha, lively, jumpy barky dogs. Also full of personality, outrageously protective, and just adorable. She is mixed with chihuahua and has big melty dark eyes and peach-colored fur. My girl is a mouser and clears our yard of rodents.

The boy is a strange combination of dachshund, terrier and beagle. He is definitely submissive and more bonded to me than to anyone else. He can howl most piteously, especially to the sound of a harmonica. He looks like a wiener dog with red tick beagle markings and very soft fur. Very, very cute little guy.

I will post photos of them soon. I'd love to see photos of other people's dogs.

Our dogs have been wonderful for our son, who is autistic and bipolar. I can't say he is always as gentle as he should be, but he adores them, can't wait to see them in the morning, and can't rest until they help to tuck him in at night.

I'm allergic to cats too - and it's what got me sick a few days ago. Long story.

she loves the snow,  but only  for short periods of time, especially when it is very cold out. When it is very cold, I let her out for a couple  minutes running through the snow, then I send her in for a least 10. then if I am still outside, I will let her run out for a little more.

Here are some Images of my Dachshound Vincent Van Gogh Wolfgang Mozart Logsdon. Was going to name him Gettysburg, Getty for short, as I was obsessed with the Civil war when we got him (4th grade, he's 14 or so now) but Mum said he might get confused if his name sounded like "GET OUT". He was born with one ear dangling by a bit of skin so my grandmother and her partner (who bred him- they treat their girls/bitches like children even though they breed) had been nicknameing him Van Gogh.  So, at a loss as to what to name him as I had been stuck on Gettysurg, I agreed to Voncent ONLY if it was Vincent Van Gogh on the paper work and he could have Wolfgang Mozart as his middle name, as I wanted to balance paintings and music. He's more commonly known as Vinnie, though, and I sometimes call him "(V)Weiner Snitzel" when I talk to him.

He lives with my mum most of the time, but lives with me when Mum thinks I am not spending enough time outside of the house.

(a couple of years ago, with a grass "toupee"- I used to always pull up grass, and decided it would be funny to make vinnie a toupee out of it.)

This has the most recent image of vinnie in it. that's his greying little snout cuddled up next to me on New Years Eve!!!

that doggie has some really  big ears. You said he was born with one ear dangling by a bit of skin when he was born. Did it have to be reattached?

Oh! Yep, yep it did, when he was three days old he had his first vet appointment and got it sewn back on, but his hearing is decreased in that ear and it hangs funny!

He's actually pretty standard for a borderline Mini Doxie, ear size wise. :) He's a bit skinny for his age, but he's a lot more ACTIVE and a lot less OVERFED than many household Doxies.

Oh, Doxies = Dachshunds

Here's some more Dog photos:

Here is my mixed Jack Russell-Chihuahua, Sugar. I'm not sure this is going to post. It's my first attempt, and I'm not seeing it in the preview screen.

Okay, that didn't work. Bummer.

My Doxie-Beagle looks a lot like Savannah's little guy, except that he has red tick Beagle markings, and he is just unbelievably cute (as is Mr. Vincent).  Sugar looks like a Jack Russell terrier with peach colored fur and big melty dark eyes and nose.

Savannah, I think Doxies are so cute. My baby, Maxx, definitely favors the Doxie, except that his legs are noticeably longer. He is still long and low, just not as long and low as if he were completely Doxie. He is only 17 pounds, and the shelter said one parent was an Elizabethan (or "pocket") beagle, which means he or she (the Beagle parent) was a toy dog no more than 10 pounds. The Doxie parent was probably full-sized, they said. His tail is not as thin as a regular Doxie's, definitely a cross between the two breeds.

He is very bonded to me in particular and can howl most piteously. I've seen videos of Doxies making that sound, and Beagles are if anything even more spectacularly noisy. One thing my little man does is stare right into my eyes with an expression that says, "You are my true love, and the center of my world." Definitely has bedroom eyes, this guy. He loves to climb behind me in chairs and provide lumbar support for my back. If I don't lean into him to provide deep pressure, he will groan until I do so.

The terrier (Sugar) smiles. She makes a nasally purring-growling sound and rolls on her back and love nips me (very gently), with her mouth smiling very wide, also staring at me, her tail wagging madly. I have never seen her doing this to anyone else. Just to me. She is not as much a mommy's dog as Maxx is, but she definitely knows who feeds and plays with her. Sugar is insanely protective of me. And she barks at trash in the street when we are walking, and I'm not quite sure why. Perhaps she has bad eyesight?

I have an elderly (14 years old) lab/cocker mix named Molly, she is awesome and doesn't shed for the allergic type.  Mutts rule!

I love dogs and cats, but I'm allergic to both.  However, I've grown up with cats and I'm more allergic to dogs.  My mother has a shih-tzu that is very cute (I love the look of the breed) and it's one of those "lesser allergenic" breeds, so I do okay around him.  I'd love a Yorkshire terrier, but I'm probably allergic:(

I am also allergic to cats...that's why I got a Siberian Cat. Special breed of cat which lacks the protein in their saliva that causes allergens.

Marya

Miss my cat, she passed away in 2008, luckily my mom's cat just had a litter of 7 kittens! Yeah me! Can't wait for my next Siberian cat!

My kid has a white calico...white cats don't bother me as much as gray & black cats.

I also have a Japanese Chin / Peke cross...he is very sweet and loving!

I really want a horse - specifically an American Curly horse... they are also hypo-allergenic.

My Doxie, Vinnie,  passed away. He  walked off into the woods  3 weeks ago, and my mother didn't tell me, because she was doing an "If you ask" policy. She is worried about my grandmother finding out since she is frail right now. So I am not allowed to post about it on Facebook or on Twitter because we are worried she'll see it. I am not sure how I'm doing. I'm sad, and hallow feeling about it.

RIP Vinnie the Weiner Dog.

Savannah,

Very sorry to hear about this.  I remember you telling me over on Skype, but I wanted to post a comment here when I saw that you mentioned it on the forum.

I have 3to dogs. .. 2 GSD's and a Belgian Malinois. My long haired GSD is disabled due a terminal illness. That i requires him to use a doggie wheelchair when he is out walking with our all black GSD. T

the Malinois and all black GSD don't get along so she lives in my room, but i make her sleep on the floor in her own bed, because she keeps me awake. She's 12 but acts alot younger than that. She's sweet but cery pesky.
