eating eggs and feeling nausious
I seem to have a recent problem with feeling nauseous, and have a mild head ache when I eat eggs. I know my allergies have been alot worse this year, and had been getting worse throughout the years, but is it possible to get an allergy or intolerence for a food at 35? The first time I felt this way after eating eggs was at Easter. Then a few days ago, we had egg salad, and today had sunny side up fried eggs and I felt the same way. Still do, and that was dinner about 6 hours ago. Eggs were on sale for 28 cents for a doz. of large eggs at a local store, so I bought 4 dozen. Whats in fully cooked eggs that can make people ill?
Yeah, here's the fun part about allergies; you can develop them to things that previously you had no problem with, and they can also lessen over time. For example, when I was a child, I was allergic to dogs and cats, and now I have no trouble with them. However, I am now allergic to dandelions, trees and grass. My mother, on the other hand, has been developing allergies to pretty much everything, including hypo-allergenic products, and possibly even herself now.
So yeah, it's completely possible that you're now allergic to eggs. I highly reccommend getting an allergy test, and tell them that you seem to be reacting to eggs. It's painful, but you'll know for sure and can start the tough task of avoiding eating eggs.
I get nauseated when I eat eggs - always have. I have no idea why?
I used to get nauseous eating eggs, for a while when i first had the CFS, but now that seems to have eased. I can remember also getting nauseous eating poached eggs, in my teens.
If you're sure, Genisa, that it's not other ingredients in the food you're eating (eg the cheese) then by elimination it must be the eggs. But feeling bloated, burping, etc can also be a candida infection, which the eggs might be setting off. If you ever have diarrhea, bloating, etc at other times, this could be something worth looking at too.
I have a friend who reacts to eggs, it is to the sulphur (sulphite) contained in the yolk.
Funny, since writing the above, i've noticed my tummy gets kind of in a 'knot', when i eat scrambled eggs. It's as if it isn't digesting properly. Hmmm... I had a bad attack of inflamed bowel a few months ago, last thing i need is another one, i think i might lay off the eggs for a while...

Yes it is possible to become sensitive or allergic at 35...
There are a multitude of proteins in cooked and raw eggs that can be the cause of the sensitivity. It may just be a phase if you're feeling nauseated and not having trouble breathing etc (like in anaphylaxis)...
Also consider whatever else you have served with the eggs.
Hope you feel better.
And WOW - 28cents a dozen is amazingly cheap (we pay $4 a dozen in Australia - maybe $2 if you go to the markets, but I get really overwhelmed in the markets)
