I'm a grad student in musicology with Aspbergers/Nonverbal Learning Disorder. I'm really glad I found AWN-it looks like it has some great resources for those of us on the autism spectrum! Checking in tonight because I've been wanting to for awhile and also because I'm feel pretty frustrated over the fact that apparently, my apartment is infested with fleas. FLEAS. GROSS!!! I hope it's just my cat and not the apartment, but I found on ON MY BED. Sick. So, I've been up all night cleaning. I hope to get it clean by morning and at least FEEL clean.

Hi!

Fleas are gross :(

I am in my third year of undergrad. I am trying to decide what I want to study in graduate school - I'm leaning toward neuropsych at the moment.

My first diagnosis was NLD at age 7, but it was changed to AS ten years later. I still don't know what the difference is.

hello everyone,

i was just diagnosed with as. I am not sure what to say because I never get responses from people because they see that I don't make senses anymore from my regular friends. They sorta just dropped pathetic. i love my cats and my favorite actress. sometimes though i get overwhelemed with my thoughts in thinking i'm going to get something like a bad disease because i've always been afraid of that since I was little. i'm just having a hard time because i dont feel like anybody gets it.

Welcome to AWN, jenkatiefan!!

We have a fun discussion board here at AWN which is ALL about cats.  You can check it out here.

We're still fairly new here at AWN, so we're all busy getting the word out, but we are getting more traffic here little by little. Smile

Again, welcome to Autism Women's Network!!

I had that happen to me and trust me you'lll feel even clean and more of ease when you get your place nice and clean after. Then you can play some music and feel more calm. When my cats got fleas I had to take them all out and it was awful. They are to scared to leave my place and I was so upset because they were frusterated and everything worked out fine and I never got them since. You can just wash your sheets a couple times and it will be really nice to get back into them and you'll know that your kitties will feel better once there out of there. It happens to everyone but it all works out. Its like chaos for a few hours and then its over.
