HTML Coding
Ok - so now I am obsessed! Compliments of Lori Berkowitz, our awesome web developer for AWN. During the process of working with Lori to get AWN's website & forum designed, I became extremely fascinated with HTML coding. In other words, I'm addicted!!
My new favorite bookmarked page which I reference at least a dozen times daily: tizag
Yea, I'm an official "geek street" patron now!
I learned in high school. Spent a good deal of time, and eventually took classes. ended up loving If Then statements when I got to that point. :)
HTML is such a chore at times.
Someone asked me to code a site today. 0_0
That is EXACTLY it! My dad is also wanting me to teach him how to use a Mac.
. . .
I've never had a Mac in my life, have only used friends' Macs. I have NO CLUE how to do this. A (relatively) polite explanation of this resulted in him replying ". . . but you are good at computers! I'm sure it will be no problem! :D :D :D."
Let's just say my head and my desk are good friends.
Macs are pretty easy to use, as they only have one mouse button; problem is if you're switching TO a mac from a windows system.
Then it becomes awful.
HTML is great, and so easy to get lost in for hours. :) I spent a ridiculous amount of time in high school and college coding for fun...I used to confuse my co-workers in college because they'd want to do all their site building in Dreamweaver, while I'd want to just hand-type the code out in Notepad, because I honestly enjoyed doing so.
Oh wow. This was one of my first loves. In fact, instead of going to my college classes.. I spent all my time in the computer lab using their computers to look up and learn HTML. Coding became one of my first obsessions when I was an adult!
This is why I ALWAYS have a website. I love coding. Problem has been that I change the look of things quite often just so I get to code again. (In case anyone had been questioning why I change the look of ASP so often, this is why!) I've started really enjoying manipulating PHP. Can't write it yet, but I know how to manipulate it with basic HTML enough to get things working like *I* want them to!
I'm an HTML & PHP Geek myself LOL I Love the stuff! I use dreamweaver & I also use the good old Notepad as well. I also work with Linux Servers I built my own Ubuntu Server & put Red5 (A flash type server) to run my video & audio chat thats on my paranormal site. My Internet connection was so slow here I bought hosting for the chat some place else. I was tickled pink that I got it up & going though I did a great deal of learning a new OS & Server side coding. I have to watch though as it will & does at times consume me LOL
I am an html/css/php geek too
I like Komodo IDE, but have been using Eclipse lately.
Yes I forgot css :-) It is kinda funny my husband does Computer Hardware & programming, I do all things web based Everyone thinks I can do what he does & vice versa but that isn't the case. But we both are Geeks.
Will this work for Android Development? I'm trying to learn how to do XML files and kind find a decent tutorial. Google's youtube and their search engine oversearches too much which really makes internet searches frustrating. Every search engine I've used including Bing seems to oversearch too much
