Inappropriate sexuality?
I was wondering if anyone else was dealing with inappropriate sexuality? In this case it's not actually my kids (although my hands are full there!) I have a friend who has a 12 year old son (going through puberty, obviously), and has crossed boundaries with some younger boys at his school. Does anyone have any resources or advice to give? I've found The Visual Aids helpful, but I think that he's beyond that point right now. They are a sex positive family and want the best for him, but obviously there are boundaries that can't be crossed. If anyone knows of any articles or resources or has any advice I'd be very grateful.
I highly recommend enrolling the child in a sex education workshop developed for preteens with ASDs. I found out about the one my son attended, which was tremendously helpful, through the social skills agency he visited for regular play groups. It's likely agencies that serve the developmentally disabled, such as California's regional centers, would have information on file about such programs and could make a referral.

Hi Jen,
I am acquainted with a psychologist who was an expert witness in a trial last year in Colorado which centered around similar circumstances. The young man on the spectrum was eventually acquitted. I will see what I can find out.
