LinkedIn !!!!!
Linkedin is a great networking tool, for those looking for work, or for those looking for someone to do work for them.
Privacy settings are available and you only have to share as much information as you want.
I think it would be great if every AWN member who felt comfortable created a Linkedin account, and we all "connected" - Being connected on Linked in is just another form of support. You can write recommendations for other members whom you know or have worked with and/or visa versa, or you can just see what people do for a living and get a better sense of who they are.
If you notice, when you got to "my account" on this (the AWN) site, there is a tab for social networking. When you sign up for Linkedin, they will give you a special address which will show at the bottom of your Linkedin profile. Just copy this URL and then insert it in the area set aside for Linkedin on your profile. (Wow, Lori or someone certainly thought ahead - KUDOS!)
If you want to search for other members on the site, just put thier name, or Autism Women's Network (if they mentioned it in their profile it will come up), or look at thier AWN profile and get thier Linkedin LINK and just add them.
I love the internet and I love AWN. How wonderful they can be "linked".
