Looking for stories for my upcoming book.
Hello,
My name is Mary Riposo and I am a licensed professional counselor and school psychologist in Central NY. I am also a Reiki Master and work with individuals with ASD. I am writing a book about Reiki and Autism and I am looking for stories beyond my clients' testimonials about children with ASD who have benefitted from Reiki therapy. Please contact me if you know of or have a child with ASD who has benefitted from Reiki therapy. I would love to include your story in my book! And if you're an adult with ASD who has benefitted from Reiki therapy, I would love to include your story as well!
What is Reiki therapy?
Reiki is an alternative therapy that uses Chi, or energy, channeling for healing and meditative purposes.

That sounds cool. I just might try it someday. ![]()
I'd love to know how and when Reiki helps I m sure it does though I have had i only a few times and i took Reiki one. Haven't tried it with the stepkids becaue 1) they aren't with us much and 2) i'm not sure their mother would be comfortable with it 3) even though there i no touch you are touching the aura/ chi I fel it and they might feel some resistance to it.4) they are still learning to trust me after 5+ years.
I'm curious what your experince has been with children who are nervous about it.
Thanks Nora
Hello Mary,
So nice to meet you! I am a LPC in the state of Texas but I do not practice anymore; just teach and hopefully use my knowledge in my voluntary capacities.
I have AS and would love to go through Reiki, so if you'd like to come down..... I'll be glad to write out my story ![]()
Welcome to AWN; I look forward to hearing more from you!
My sister just got her first Reiki certificatioN! Woot! maybe I can have her join here and talk to you. . .

Hi Mary! My mum and sister are looking to get Reiki certifications as well, with a focus on those with special needs.
Don't forget that there are adults with ASDs, so you might want to include some stuff about them, too, if they have benefited in some way from Reiki.
