loose tooth & flipping out
WOW this is gonna be a long night! This will be my daughters (5 yrs old) 4th loose tooth she has lost three bottom teeth & now has a very very loose front top tooth. She pulled her last one on her own by accident trying to gross her big sis out She keeps dosing off & waking up crying she might swallow it, I offer to try & pull it then she freaks worse NO IT WILL BLEED! She has a major fear of blood the last tooth bled a little so now she is so freaked out.
I can see the excuse for her missing tomorrow
Dear Teacher,
Please excuse my daughter for her absence 2-18-2010 she was up all night crying over her loose tooth.
Oh yeah another thing she says I don't like it when I don't have a tooth it feels weird! She hates that change as it may seem like a minor one to most it is huge to her.
What loose tooth stories has anyone else got? And has anyone's child ever swallowed one?
My daughter just swallowed a tooth while eating an apple last week. Except when I took a closer look, it had snapped off at the base and the root is still in her gum! I think I am going to have to take her to the dentist. This is my NT child, thankfully. I dread to think how my AS daughter will deal with loose teeth.
my daughter swallowed a few of her baby teeth when she was first loosing them but once she figured out the tooth fairy she now happily hands me her teeth after she looses them, she brings them home from school now......the only time she has gotten upset was with her last tooth and it was a molar and the gums underneath were pretty swollen and sore after the tooth came out....motrin and ice pops helped with that.....
My son is turning 7 in April and we are dealing with this now.. His tooth has been hanging for weeks, its so loose that it has turned sideways and I think that if he sneezed to hard it would fall out. This will be his 5th lost tooth, so he is familiar with what happens however the others either just fell out eaisly or he had is younger sister pull one because he tried to bite her and a boy at our homeschool group bumped him and made one fall out. That one had lots of blood and made him CRAZY.... He turned grey and I thought he was going to pass out. That is why he refuses to mess with this one. He is very afraid of blood. So we are just waiting

I don't remember huge problems with loose teeth myself, but my parents say I drove them so crazy with messing with them that they were tempted just to yank them out. I'm glad they didn't try. My kids seem totally uninhibited about just tugging them out. Thank goodness. My favorite solution, if they chickened out, was to give them something chewy or crunchy that they couldn't resist. Out came the teeth.
Caramel apples ... with chopped nuts on the outside ...
Hope your daughter gets some rest and wakes up with her tooth lying on the pillow beside her, without blood.
