Hey all- In addition to ASD, I have dyslexia.  Recently I misunderstood the PRiceline website and did not see or understand that I had inadvertently made a purchase for a hotel.  The cost is steep - 1500.  I would swear they did not send me notice my bid was accepted!!  They are not budging.  Does anyone know if ADA or any other group helps people with disabilities (agh- hate that word) negotiate with tough guys like Priceline?  Any adivce?  I think the internet is a place where folks with neuro problems do need advocacy...

I would think if you used a credit card, you could perhaps file a "dispute" for the charge? I'm not sure... but what a good point. I feel sure you aren't the only one who has ever inadvertently done that. I too, have dyslexia, and I have come close to accidentally making purchases online before. So close. As a matter of fact, I DID make a purchase for an online subscription (MLB.com) before realizing that they would not show our home team's games - in essence making the purchase useless. I realized immediately after making the purchase and I notified them that I wanted to cancel and get a refund. It took about two weeks for it to all get straightened out, but they finally fixed it. If Priceline isn't willing to work with you on it, I would try the credit card company or your bank? Good luck!

(and can I just say that I am a HUGE fan. I just read "Pretending to be Normal" and it was as if I were reading my own biography! Wow! It really spoke to me.)

Hope you get the errant charge taken care of!
